MR350 Features

35 Mile Range
The MR350, under ideal conditions, gives you a range of up to 35 miles. Conditions vary with geography and other variables.

22 Channels
The MR350 boasts 22 channels (including 7 NOAA channels).

Emergency Alert Button
When the alert button is activated, the radio transmits an alert siren followed by transmission of spoken or incidental sounds. This allows you to send the signal to other radios and warn of impending danger.

Channel Scan
Use scan to search the 22 channels for transmissions from unknown parties, to find someone in your group who has accidentally changed channels, or to quickly find unused channels for your own use.

Includes drop-in dual charger for easy charging.

Brilliant LCD with battery indicator, channel, and other info.

Oversized buttons are easy to use, even with gloves on.

Charging Options
You can charge the MR350 using the Motorola standard charging port (with the included charging adapter), the Drop-in cradle charger (also included), or purchase a mini-USB cable for use with the Mini-USB charging port, especially useful when traveling.

121 Privacy Codes
Interference Eliminator Codes help minimize interference by blocking transmissions from unknown sources. The MR350 features 121 codes for superior interference protection.

Twenty Call Tones
The MR350 can transmit different call tones to other radios in your group so you can alert them that you want to talk. Choose from 20 different tones.

Hands-Free Communication
Use the iVOX feature to transmit hands-free without the need for any headset accessories. Once iVOX is turned on, the radio detects your voice and transmits when you speak into the internal microphone.

QT (Quiet Talk) Noise Filtering
The QT noise-filtering feature helps to ensure uninterrupted communication with other Motorola radios, filtering out unwanted transmissions from other radios. This is useful in places where there is heavy radio traffic, such as amusement parks or ski resorts.

Weather Receiver
Tune in to broadcasts by the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio and Environment Canada Weatheradio. Both NOAA and Environment Canada have transmitters located throughout the United States and Canada, respectively. These transmitters broadcast watches, forecasts, and other information 24 hours a day.

Weather Alerts
A special alarm tone sounds an alert and turns on the weather receiver to give you immediate weather and emergency information.

Flashlight
Handy built-in LED flashlight comes in handy in the dark or during power outages.

Push-to-Talk (PTT) Power Boost
When activated, this feature helps extend the transmission range by increasing the transmitter power output while helping to save battery life when no power boost is necessary.

Extra Large Buttons
Skiers and winter sports adventurists will appreciate the new design that features extra large buttons making it easier than ever to operate with gloves.

VibraCall
For quiet adventures or when ringing is intrusive, the VibraCall feature can be enabled to silently alert users to incoming transmissions.

We lost one, but at this price that is ok.. Will order some more for the family as these work great. Next time we will label them as ours.

3 out of 5 stars Too Many Technical Problems   August 20, 2010

The walkie-talkies took three days to set up so that both parties could be heard. You need to go through a number of steps to set the sound up. It should be easier, but now it works all right.

4 out of 5 stars Works great!   August 12, 2010

We bought these Motorola radios for our road trip with some friends from California to Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun to use these on the road and talk to each other in different cars. It took about five minutes for us to figure out which radio frequency to put them on to get the radios to talk with our friends' radios, but we got it figured out. During part of our trip, we did some volunteer preaching work in Idaho. The radios worked well when in closer ranges in the more lived-in areas, but out in the rural areas, reception was not as good. The vibrate setting came in handy though when we needed to be contacted but were busy with our preaching work. The only place we got zero signal was inside of Yellowstone where we were surrounded by trees. But other than that, these worked great on our trip. The best thing, in my opinion, was Amazon's price! Best Buy wanted right around $100 for this exact model.

2 out of 5 stars Dosen't meet expectations   August 9, 2010

I have purchased many Motorola two-way radios over the years, and they continue to disapppoint. They stop working very soon and the advertized range is a joke, even on very flat terrain. For this one, after about a week, it began turning itself off when I pushed the talk button; very problematic when issuing instructions to four other vehicles driving in a foreign country when I am the only one who knows where we are going.

I must be insane for continuing to spend money on them. The problem is that I need them for my a specific function in my work. Price doesn't seem to be an issue with these radios. When they work, they work great, but they cannot be counted on in crunch time. I buy 6 at a time, and one or two always fail.

1 out of 5 stars iVOX is not acceptable   August 4, 2010

I bought these radios for one purpose only ... the iVOX.
The iVOX does not work on these radios. There are only 3 settings. Near as I can tell here's what the settings are for:
LEAST SENSITIVE: activated by NASA rocket launch
MEDIUM: activated by freight train
MOST SENSITIVE: activated by a person yelling into the microphone one inch away
in other words...totally useless...I returned them.
I did not try VOX with corded microphone/earpiece because that was not my intended purpose and the radios were advertised as not needing them. Upon recommendation of an Amazon reviewer, I purchased Midland GXT1000 which have 9 VOX settings ... they work great! Highly recommended.
